COTALAND Park Policies

These rules are subject to change at any time without notice in COTALAND’s sole discretion. 

Chaperone Policy

Minor guests under the age of 14 years of age must be always accompanied by a supervising adult who is at least 18 years of age, except for programs specifically intended for minors (e.g., camps or educational programs).

Card Payments

We accept major credit cards (including MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover), debit cards, COTALAND gift cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. All attractions and vendors within the park are cashless.  Reverse ATMs are available for guests that would like to convert their cash into a prepaid debit card.

Behavior/Code of Conduct

COTALAND is a family destination, and we are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and enjoyable experience for all guests. Guests are expected to behave appropriately, follow posted instructions, and comply with all Park Policies. Violations may result in denial of entry or removal from the Park without refund, in COTALAND’s sole discretion.

To help us maintain a positive environment, we ask all guests adhere to certain guidelines, including but not limited to:

  • Treat fellow guests and team members with courtesy and respect.
  • Refrain from using offensive language, gestures, or clothing.
  • Follow all posted safety rules and verbal instructions from staff.
  • Do not run, push, or engage in unsafe behavior in queue lines or attractions.
  • Alcohol may only be consumed in designated areas by guests age 21 or older.
  • Smoking and vaping are only permitted in designated areas.
  • Weapons of any kind, including those with concealed carry permits, are strictly prohibited.

Without limiting the foregoing, the following conduct is prohibited and may result in revocation of your Ticket/Pass and removal without refund:

  • Threatening, harassing, discriminatory, abusive, obscene, or otherwise inappropriate language or behavior.
  • Guests shall not interfere with the events, and/or exhibitors, vendors, performers, or Venue/event operations or personnel.
  • Fighting, reckless conduct, disorderly conduct, or any conduct that is unsafe or detrimental to other guests, employees, animals, or the Park.
  • Intoxication, possession or use of illegal drugs, or misuse of alcohol; providing alcohol to minors; or failure to comply with alcohol policies.
  • Smoking or vaping (including e-cigarettes) except in designated areas (if any); possession or use of cannabis/marijuana products except as permitted by applicable law and Park Rules; or any conduct that creates smoke/vapor exposure for other guests.
  • Possession of weapons, fireworks, explosives, or other dangerous items; or possession of prohibited items (including, without limitation, drones, remote-controlled devices, selfie sticks/extension poles, or other items identified in Park Rules or posted signage).
  • Vandalism, theft of property or services, fraud, counterfeiting, or misuse of Tickets/Passes or Reservations.
  • Line-jumping or cutting; saving places in line in a manner detrimental to other guests; or failure to follow ride/attraction instructions.
  • Entering restricted areas; climbing fences/barriers; tampering with safety devices; or failing to comply with safety instructions.
  • Unauthorized commercial activity, solicitation, distribution of materials, or photography/videography not permitted by the Park Rules.
  • Failure to follow directions from COTALAND personnel, security, or emergency responders.
  • Inappropriate attire including clothing with threatening/hateful/offensive content, excessively revealing clothing, or identity-concealing face coverings (e.g., balaclavas/ski masks), except for medical, disability, religious, or weather-related reasons. Guests may be required to briefly remove face coverings for identification, screening, or admission validation.

COTALAND reserves the right to modify the Park Policies and Code of Conduct from time to time, with or without notice, and to interpret and enforce such rules in its sole discretion.

Language

Guests using profanity, offensive or abusive language, gestures, or wearing or displaying clothing or tattoos with vulgar, offensive or discriminatory symbols or language may be ejected from the park without refund. 

Dress Code

In keeping with our family-friendly and fun environment, we ask that guests dress appropriately for the Park and avoid wearing clothing that is inappropriate, including clothing with threatening/hateful/offensive content, excessively revealing clothing, or identity-concealing face coverings (e.g., balaclavas/ski masks), except for medical, disability, religious, or weather-related reasons. Guests may be required to briefly remove face coverings for identification, screening, or admission validation. Guests who violate this Dress Code may be removed from the Park without refund. 

Loose Articles 

Loose and unsecured articles can pose a danger to guests and other riders and can interfere with rider restraints and other safety measures. For this reason, loose articles, including bags, are not permitted on most rides and must be secured in provided storage compartments, lockers, or left with non-riding guests. COTALAND and its employees are not responsible for lost or stolen items. COTALAND takes safety very seriously. Guests who fail to comply with the Loose Articles policy for a given attraction may be subject to immediate ejection from the Park without refund. 

Prohibited Items 

For everyone’s safety, the following items are not permitted inside the park. Any guest found attempting to access the park with any such items will be escorted from the premises by security.

  • Weapons of any kind to include components/parts toys or replicas (including firearms, ammunition, knives, and self-defense items such as pepper spray) Rat tail combs or pointed object with long fixed point, and or any instrument that shoots or delivers an electrical charge or projectile including CO2 powered devices.
  • Martial arts weapons, kubatons, and black jacks
  • Explosives or fireworks and other pyrotechnics to include any incendiary devices, components or parts.
  • Recreational drugs or illegal substances
  • Outside Food & Beverages
  • Animals (unless a service animal as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act – ADA – and in accordance with Service Animal Policy of the Venue)
  • Outside alcoholic beverages (unless specifically allowed for special events)
  • Drones or remote-controlled devices
  • Glass containers (except baby food jars)
  • Sealed packages or parcels of any kind
  • Sporting equipment including but not limited to baseball bats, hockey sticks, and balls
  • Frisbees, beach balls, inflatables, or other projectiles
  • Skateboards, hoverboards, or similar personal vehicles
  • Laser pointers, noisemakers, or items that may disrupt operations
  • Any other items deemed by Venue or event personnel to be inappropriate, dangerous, or challenging to public safety in the Venue’s sole discretion.

Prohibited Activities 

Any guests who engage in the below activities, or any other activity which COTALAND determines to be harmful or disruptive, in our sole and absolute discretion, may be: denied entry to the Park, removed from the Park without refund, prohibited from future ticket purchase to the Park and its attractions, have their Annual Pass revoked, banned from entry into the Park and/or the broader Circuit of the Americas campus, or any other non-listed remedy COTALAND deems appropriate. 

  • The sale of goods or services, or the display of goods or services, unless pre-approved by COTALAND in writing.
  • The distribution of printed or recorded materials of any kind unless pre-approved by COTALAND in writing.
  • Engaging in any unsafe act or other act that may impede the operations of COTALAND staff or otherwise impede or endanger park guests and staff. 
  • Unauthorized access or entry into ride maintenance areas or areas designated only for staff and employees. 
  • Unauthorized events, protests, speeches, or the use of any flag, banner, sign or other material for commercial purposes or as part of a demonstration. 
  • Photography, videography, or recording of any kind, or otherwise engaging in any activity for unapproved commercial purposes.
  • Unauthorized solicitation of any kind, whether commercial, religious, political, educational, or otherwise, or conducting any unauthorized commercial activities, including solicitations for money or other contributions or donations. 
  • Obstructing sidewalks, entrances, driveways, patios, vestibules, stairways, corridors, halls or landings, or otherwise impeding access to such areas, or disrupting the flow of foot traffic and other traffic. 

Lost and Found

All items found at COTALAND are turned in to Lost and Found located at Guest Services. Items should be stored appropriately prior to boarding rides and in compliance with posted signage, operator instructions, and park policy. If you lose an item on a ride, notify park staff and we will search for the item as soon as possible. Found items are kept for a limited time. Unclaimed items will be treated as abandoned property and may be donated or discarded after seven days. We are not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen property. Items lost on rides may not be recoverable or may be retrieved after the park closes and put in Lost and Found.

Alcoholic Beverages

No alcoholic beverages are allowed to be brought into COTALAND. COTALAND is excited to offer alcoholic beverages for purchase at select vendors throughout the park. Alcohol may only be consumed in designated areas by guests who are at least 21 years of age or older. Alcoholic beverages purchased in the park are not permitted outside of the Park. Excessive consumption of alcohol, providing alcohol to minors, or otherwise violating Park Policy will result in removal from the Park without refund. 

Outside Food, Drinks, and Coolers

Outside food and drinks are not permitted, except for guests with special dietary needs, allergies, or baby food/formula. Outside alcoholic beverages are not allowed under any circumstances. Contact [email protected] to learn more about bringing in special dietary food prior to your visit. 

Coolers and other large food or drink storage devices are strictly prohibited. 

Food Allergies 

Food allergens may be present throughout the Park. While COTALAND may provide ingredient information upon request for certain items, COTALAND does not guarantee any food will be allergen-free and guests are responsible for their own dietary needs. Please email our food allergy team at [email protected] to discuss options to bring your own special dietary food. Park staff are not permitted to cook, reheat, or cool any outside food. 

Inclement Weather

For guest safety, certain rides may need to close during severe weather, including electrical storms, heavy rain, or high winds. Most restaurants, shops, and public areas will remain open. Rides will re-open as soon as it is safe to do so. We do not offer refunds, or rain checks for weather-related impacts unless required by law. Certain premium attractions may be rescheduled subject to availability at COTALAND’s discretion. 

Rain Policy 

COTALAND remains open during light to moderate rain. Some outdoor attractions may temporarily close during inclement weather and will reopen when conditions permit. We do not offer refunds or rain checks for weather-related impacts unless required by law.

Line Jumping

Line-jumping or cutting; saving places in line in a manner detrimental to other guests; or failure to follow ride/attraction instructions is strictly prohibited. Violators will be ejected without a refund. 

Photography 

As a condition of entry, you grant the COTALAND Parties and their designees the irrevocable right to use your name, image, likeness, voice, and statements captured at the Park in any media worldwide in perpetuity, without compensation, for lawful purposes including advertising and promotion, to the extent permitted by law.

COTALAND may photograph, record, and/or otherwise capture images, video, and audio of guests in connection with Park operations, safety and security, ride photos, marketing, promotional materials, and other lawful purposes.

Guests may use personal devices for personal, non-commercial photography and videography unless restricted by posted Park Rules. COTALAND may prohibit or restrict recording in certain areas, on certain rides, or during certain events. Drones are prohibited unless expressly authorized in writing by COTALAND.

On-ride photography is strictly prohibited on most of our attractions without park permission unless the recording device is a glasses-based micro camera (ex: Meta Glasses) that is secured to the head with an approved strap while riding. Small action cameras, including GoPro, DJI Osmo, DJI Pocket, etc. are not permitted on rides and attractions. Please review each ride’s safety guidelines for any additional restrictions.

All commercial photography or video production requires prior written approval. Unauthorized commercial use of images taken in the park is prohibited.

Selfie Sticks, Tripods, Monopods, and Similar Items 

The use of tripods, monopods, or selfie sticks is prohibited throughout the Park.

Re-Entry 

Guests are permitted to leave the park and re-enter on the same day. Handstamps may be given at designated turnstiles upon exit for presentation upon re-entry. Ticket rescans or biometric identifiers may be used for re-entry. Please follow any posted instructions for the day of your visit.

Ride Restrictions 

The safety of our guests and team members is our number one priority, and we meet or exceed all safety guidelines set forth by state authorities, industry standards, as well as our ride manufacturers.  All guests must meet height, weight, and health requirements posted at each attraction. Loose articles, including bags, must be stored in provided compartments or with non-riding guests. For safety reasons, some attractions may not accommodate guests with certain physical conditions. Rides may not be suitable for all guests. You should not ride if you have a history of medical issues or have any condition or impairment that would prevent the intended use of seating and safety restraints as provided or an inability to follow any safety requirements. For everyone’s safety, we strictly enforce these requirements.

Rider Responsibilities

All riders are responsible for ensuring they conduct themselves in a manner that ensures their safety, as well as the safety of other guests and park staff. Riders may not:

  • Board or attempt to board an amusement ride except at the designated time and area.
  • Disregard or fail to obey park staff’s instructions and directions while boarding or dismounting rides. 
  • Board or attempt to board rides when the person’s behavior or physical condition would impair their ability to use the ride safely or in any way impede ride safety mechanisms.
  • Board or dismount from a ride except at the designated time and area.
  • Engage in any reckless act or activity that may injure the person, other rides, or park staff. 

Smoking Policy 

COTALAND is committed to promoting a healthy, clean, and safe environment for guests of all ages. For this reason, smoking is not permitted inside the park, including the use of e-cigarettes and vapes. 

Smoking, including e-cigarettes and vaping, is only permitted in designated smoking areas located outside the main park areas.
